Eleuthera Cruising: Must See Spots
Rock Sound: Safe calm anchorage when the wind is from any Easterly direction at Four Points. Really nice restaurant in the anchorage called "Pascal's" with a great tiki bar and good food. Provisions, Dining, and Local entertainment on shore. Great snorkeling and diving ad with several blue holes and an ocean hole in town.
Governors Harbor: Anchorage and moorings in the harbor. No dockage. Capitol of Eleuthera with fun social events, beaches, short walk to the Atlantic Side of the Island. Customs Office at Commercial Port.
The Glass Window Bridge: Anchor for the day or overnight weather permitting on the North or South side of the Bridge. Eleuthera is only about 100' wide and you can look through to the Atlantic. Fun for exploring and swimming on calm days, exciting to watch huge swells splash through the archway on big days. Very scenic and great for pictures. Nice bayside beaches on both sides of the Bridge.
Current: Go for a fast moving drift dive through Current Cut at the small town of Current or anchor on the North Side in calmer conditions and enjoy the North Facing Beaches. Small Yacht Basin on the Northeast Side of the Cut is very shallow at low tide so beware of tying up with a draft of more than 3 feet.
Spanish Wells: Beautiful little town and Harbor. Kind of like Maine in the Caribbean. Dry town, no partying. Ice Cream shop and restaurant at the dock is fun for a quick stop. Many restaurants deeper into the town. Beautiful Beaches on the North Side of Spanish Wells.
Devils Backbone - et a local guide to take you through this beautiful but tricky reef. Many beaches to stop at along the way as well as a few large natural caves where pirates and castaways used to get stranded centuries ago. Great diving on calm days. Extremely scenic.
Harbor Island: The hang out of the Jet Set. Big mega-yachts and wealthy folks like it here. Horse Back Riding, Pink Sand Beaches, Beautiful Resorts and Restaurants. Recommend Valentines Marina as a safe harbor or you can anchor out in the sound. Enough to explore here for many days, from Bottom Harbor Club on the West side of the sound to the many little islands and beaches adjacent to Harbor Island.
Royal Island, Egg Island, Little Egg Island: All of these little islands northeast of Current have a lot to offer. Beaches, Anchorages, Marina, Snorkeling and Diving.
