Bareboat Application
In order to charter a yacht without a captain on board, 360 Yachting must ensure that you have reasonable skills and experience to competently captain the vessel with little risk to the yacht, yourself, or your passengers. The objective of the below application is to help us qualify you as a skipper with the goal of ensuring your safety and enjoyment during your vacation. Many people can captain any vessel under ideal conditions, but our goal is to discern whether you are capable should the conditions become more challenging.
We require ASA, US Sailing, or RYA bareboat certification as well as recent experience to ensure that your skills are fresh and you have not forgotten what you learned during your certification. If you do not have the required certifications, but are experienced with similar yachts and familiar with the cruising location we can make an exception to the requirement.
Before completing the application you will be asked to attach a copy of the following documents. Please scan and save as .pdf file type before beginning the application.
- US Driver's License or International Passport
- Sailing Certifications
- Sailing Resume if available
- US or Foreign Coast Guard Captain's License if available
360 Yachting may require the skipper to pass a written bareboat exam and a sea trial before taking the vessel. Furthermore, 360 Yachting reserves the right to assign a captain at your expense for a portion or all of your charter should the charter manager deem it necessary. Captain's Salary is $250 per 24hr day or $125 for a sea trial.
